What is Hemp Flower?
Hemp Flowers are the buds on a cannabis plant that express a higher concentration of Cannabidiol (CBD) or other cannabinoids than its psychoactive counterpart THC. To be considered “hemp” the concentration of THC must be <0.3% THC. The hemp plant grows to look like a Christmas tree with one main stem and radial branches forming a cone-like structure. On the tips of the branches and branchlets grow the clusters of buds. These clustered, densely packed buds form a complete flower. Once the flowers mature to ripeness they are harvested, dried and cured. After which they are ready for market to be used in a variety of applications. The cannabinoids, including Cannabidiol (CBD), are found concentrated in the resinous material on the flower that can be extracted, vaporized, burned, etc. They are non-psychoactive, and in-vitro and animal studies have found anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant and anxiolytic propeties that differ in degree among the cannabinoids and terpenoids. We expressly do not claim these effects.
Is Hemp Flower Legal?
CBD Hemp Flower is legal in the US for those 18 and older. The 2018 Farm Bill paved the way for hemp to be legally grown, sold and distributed throughout the US. While we can ship to any state, some states have further regulated Hemp Flower specifically and we expect our customers to stay up-to-date with the latest rules and regulations within their respective states. States that are known to have Hemp Flower specific regulations include: ID, IA, KY, LA, NC, SD, VA and possibly others. Be Aware!!
What does hemp flower do?
CBD Hemp Flower has a variety of effects. Some of our customers report relief from anxiety, pain, depression, PTSD, and insomnia. The experience is highly individual and we make no claims of effect. But read the reviews below each product to see what others have experienced and leave one yourself once you decide on a strain and try it out. This is all new territory and we would love feedback on your experience.
Will hemp flower get me high?
CBD Hemp Flower contains <0.3% THC and is non-psychoactive, so it will not get you “high.” There are high concentrations of non-psychoactive cannabinoids such as CBD and terpenoids that may have other effects. Our customers report tension relief caused by stress and anxiety. Insomnia and pain relief are also commonly reported. This relief seems to have an effect on mood for some, and therefore a depression relieving effect as a result. Mind you, we expressly do not make these claims, but our reviews are verified. Many find an effect, some do not.
Is hemp a drug?
Hemp has been wrongfully categorized as a harmful and intoxicating drug. It is a plant. And this specific plant is Cannabis Sativa l. with a THC level of <0.3%. That’s it. There are many compounds found in the plant, the majority are found in the flowers. They include the cannabinoids and terpenoids as well as many others named and un-named. The FDA defines a drug as: a substance intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease. We expressly claim that our hemp is not intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent any disease.
Will I fail a drug test?
Hemp contains less than <0.3% THC, making it exceedingly difficult to fail a drug test, but it is not impossible. Despite the low concentrations, if enough is taken into your body, there may be residual THC that could be detected on a drug test. Bear in mind that the concentration of THC rich cannabis flower found in dispensaries is on average 70-150 times more concentrated.
How do you use CBD Hemp flower?
CBD Hemp flower is dried plant material that contains the highest concentration of Cannabinoids and terpenoids compared to the rest of the plant parts. For centuries, this has been ingested through teas or brief inhalation of the smoke often as part of a ceremony. The cannabinoids and terpenoids found in hemp flower are lipid soluble and can be simply extracted by combining with a fat or oil in mild heat. Once the plant material is filtered, the resultant fat or oil will be laden with the cannabinoids and terpenoids and other lipid soluble compounds, ready for use.
At Golden Eagle Farms we have also developed a hemp flower derived Sweetened Salve that can be topically applied.
